Migrations specialist MigrationWare, a key partner of Micro Focus, a leading provider of legacy development and deployment software for enterprise platforms, is a Gold Sponsor of Micro Focus World 2007 in the US, a major event on the global IT industry calendar.

The global forum, at which Micro Focus and its strategic partners will present to key international decision makers, will take place at the Royal Pacific Hotel in Orlando, Florida from 30 April to 2 May 2007.

MigrationWare, a company which specialises in the conversion and transformation of applications for some of the world's leading corporates, is a Micro Focus development and migrations partner and the distributor of Micro Focus products for Africa.

Mark Cooper, MigrationWare CEO, said managing enterprise applications successfully was a priority for organisations worldwide. "Enterprise applications run the business and in many ways are the business," he said. "At Micro Focus World, delegates will see the big picture of enterprise application modernisation and management from Micro Focus and its partners."

Companies whose business future includes enterprise applications will be informed on trends and challenges and the practical strategies and technical opportunities that are shaping that future. Case studies will be presented by customers, about how they are driving their business, and analysts from Gartner and Forrester will share their insights into key industry issues. There will be numerous opportunities to learn about the latest Micro Focus technology directly.

The annual event, for senior IT managers and developers, will focus on application modernisation and management, highlighting new solutions for integrating and extending legacy applications and business issues. It will incorporate three events in one: an invitation-only CIO Forum, an Enterprise Forum and a Developers Forum.

Peter Duffell, director of strategic alliances at Micro Focus, said the three-day conference would introduce new solutions for integrating and extending legacy applications. "If modernising enterprise applications is core to what people do, this event will help businesses maximise the value of existing systems and processes, and accelerate business agility."

MigrationWare director Joao de Oliveira, who will be presenting papers at the conference, will speak on MigrationWare's contribution to the migration and modernisation of application systems.

"MigrationWare is delighted to support Micro Focus at this prestigious event. We fully believe in the significant role that Micro Focus plays in the IT market and we are committed to ensuring the continued prosperity of Micro Focus and its customers."

He said the forum would be a major opportunity for South African decision-makers and influencers to be exposed to latest world trends in the enterprise application modernisation and management arena.
