migrations, has been contracted by LogicaCMG, one of Europe's leading IT
services companies, to assist with the development of essential
additions to its rFrame Financial Reporting application. This added
functionality is aimed at supporting the new Basel II regulations that
go live in 2007.
LogicaCMG's project comes in the wake of new rules imposed by the Basel II Accord on capital adequacy that have impacted on the regulatory reporting requirements of banks and investment firms worldwide. The rFrame application is a regulatory reporting application used by more than 70 of LogicaCMG's financial clients in the UK and Ireland to produce reports for the relevant authorities.
MigrationWare's specialist skills in Micro Focus products, Microsoft development environments, and competitive rates, gained it the contract with LogicaCMG for the two phase project that began in January 2006.
LogicaCMG's rFrame application executes within a Windows framework on client-server principles. The front-end "client" utilises Microsoft Visual Basic integrated with Microsoft Office products. The back-end "server" functionality is provided by Micro Focus modules.
Robin Bridge, Product Centre Director within the UK Financial Services division at LogicaCMG, said that MigrationWare successfully completed and delivered their contribution to the first phase of the project on time and within budget. "As a result of this success, MigrationWare was retained to assist with the second phase of this project through to the end of August 2006."
MigrationWare director Joao De Oliveira said that the project was a further example of the growing success MigrationWare was having in working with partners around the world. "The partnering model is fundamental to our business and has enabled us to establish a global profile even though we are essentially a small South African company," said De Oliveira.
