MigrationWare’s Natural to COBOL translator performs an automated translation of Natural source objects into COBOL source code. The resultant COBOL code is 100% functionally equivalent to the original Natural code.

During the conversion process the presentation layer is separated from the application layer enabling the client to choose a variety of technologies for the presentation layer. Currently we can convert to Micro Focus ADIS, HTML, WinForms, WebForms or even BMS if the target environment is Micro Focus Enterprise Server with Mainframe Transaction Option. The converted application will typically be deployed on Enterprise Server as either a CICS application, web services or EJB’s. If the application is deployed as web services, the presentation layer can be converted to Microsoft .NET Visual C#. And if the application is deployed as EJB’s, the presentation layer is converted to HTML pages using JavaScript.

Migrationware provides an ADABAS precompiler and run-time modules that can be used if the database of choice remains ADABAS, but we also provide migration and conversion services for migrating of the database to an RDBMS such as Oracle, DB2 or Microsoft SQL Server.
